Dr. Tehnaz Dastoor
Tehnaz began her career in NY and was appointed Unicef’s Global Coordinator, Spokesperson and Advocate on behalf of children and women affected by mines and bombs worldwide. As part of her mandate she engaged with donor nations and concerned citizen (for advocating against the use of these weapons, and for resource mobilization) to help alleviate the suffering of those affected under these circumstances. She attended Treaty Meetings and lobbied Ambassadors and Ministers to help change national laws regarding the use of these weapons. As Unicef’s focal point she helped support Jodi Williams and a number of NGOs who were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997 for their work to ban anti-personnel landmines.
As the Global Advocate, she was in constant touch with the International Press as well as with global celebs helping to leverage their status to promote Unicef’s child-centric work and helped build strategic partnerships with celebrity advocates. Over the years, she has ensured influence generated through social media has enhanced her clients’brands; and utilized MICE to train, motivate and educate her partners and raise millions of dollars globally.
At Tericom, Tehnaz has brought her international experience and strategies to work for clients and international and national brands like Hafele, Coach, Blum, Pernod Richard, NOVA, Titan, Tanishq, Taj, AMRI and Medica,undertaking both traditional PR, as well as utilizing local bloggers/influencer for marketing and promotional purposes.
Tehnaz has organized numerous events and product launches for the likes of Hard Rock Café (Kolkata), Coach, Fortis Hospital, BIBS (Bengal Inst. Of Biz. Studies) and Satya Paul etc.
Being an expert in establishing CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) projects, she helped create the first-of-its-kind, CII-Unicef CSR Hub in Kolkata which was later established throughout the country. Her pilot project of creating ‘model Anganwadi centers was highly appreciated by the state government and replicated in over 114,000 centers.
Her presentation on ‘Promoting National Unity Through Cultural Traditions in Ukraine’ following herrecent trip to the war-torn country was highly appreciated by both, EUNIC as well as the EU. Tehnaz continues to find time to support causes related to women and children, establish CSR projects locally and undertake presentations before numerous charities and local bodies.
